preliminary inks

Ok, above is the inked version of the picture from the previous day. Branwen’s face is still a bit off, and the inking is not yet complete. Hmm. I need to figure out how to change her face to make it look more like her character.

Branwen & Alec redesign

After some input by the Kilted Policeman himself, here is a new take (or perhaps an old one once again) on Branwen for the Women of Roleplay piece.

Branwen WoR Prelim

Ok, I figure I might as well show you how I muddle through a typical one of these calendar pictures, given the fact that this piece here is very late in coming out.

Now, some of the pictures for the calendar were drawn and inked on one piece of paper, scanned in, then touched up on the computer. But about half of these calendar pieces are made up of several different scans. The Branwen and Alec poses were done on an 11×14 bristol board, vertically, while the background dancers were drawn on the same size paper, horizontally. I then brought our two main characters over into the dancer background, scaled them down a bit until they looked right, then roughly masked out the white surrounding them, allowing the background to show through more. Now, the background dancers are far from complete. A lot of changes will be made to the faces of the right two characters especially. Other background props will also likely be done in photoshop.  Sometimes, if I can’t get it just right with my wacom, then I’ll once more used pen and paper to drawn what I am after and scan it, too.

Ok, I have my work cut out for me. So I better get back to it.

Branwen Concept for Calendar (*sigh*) with micron pens

Ok, so much for my “1, 2, 3″ schtick I was attempting over a month ago. Talk about dropping the ball for over the last 8 months. I could certainly put the blame on any number of things in my life, but you know what? That would be disingenuous, for I have had plenty of opportunities to finish up these last two pieces for the Women of Roleplay Calendar and have simply chosen to pursue other activites. World of Warcraft being chief among them. *sigh* (Such an addictive game, isn’t it? I have found myself battling alongside a good  friend of mine on the Sisters of Elune server, within the Horde guild of the Disciples of the Wraith. Great guild for anyone who is looking.)  Anyway, best of intentions — poor follow through. Such a terrible, terrible  habit or trait or whatever you would call it. I will be taking more deliberate steps in th future to actually do something productive with my time.  (Yes, as if those who have been here before haven’t heard that one before.)

Once again, the above picture is the voluptuous Branwen who is known for her ample bosom as described for me (on a number of occasions, far too many to count) by none other than the Kilted Policeman himself, Alec DeLeon. I used a photo reference to try and capture the afforementioned proportions, but did change the hairstyle around a bit. We’ll see if this suits her.

Ok, yet another buxom lass (Branwen again). I promise that I will draw something different in the near future.For now,however,  I need to complete the last two Women of Roleplay pictures.
