Ariyana Sune ala Elvgren

Taken from one of Gil Elvgren’s marvelous paintings,I changed around a few small things to make the woman more in line with an Ultima Online character Ariyana Sune who has graced the pages of this sketchbook once before. The face is still a bit wonky and the shading could use a bit more definition,but overall the sketch turned out OK.

I have been meaning to practice the simple art of defining proper values in a picture,so I thought I would turn to a modern master for his help . And since I seem to be involved in a few Ultima Online projects these days I thought I would continue to practice drawing characters from that world,to get a better feel for them. Hopefully you’ll see more characters from the UO verse this week. Until then.
