This is a rough sketch of some characters for a comic I hope to be putting up the main site. I have the major character’s backgrounds worked out but I am still looking for the look each of them needs to have. It is not easy. I thought it would be easier,but when designing characters you have to take in not just the look of the characters,but also how its consistent with the world they are in,the other inhabitants of this world,the utility of the outfits,and many more things. Maybe I am over thinking things. As long as I remind myself that I can go back and change things as it fits within the story,then perhaps I will not be paralyzed into complete indecision.
One another note,I am looking forward to the movie Superman Returns. I was a fan of the first two Superman films (it seems most were,but then shunned the later two),and the first one has held up pretty well with time. The second one has to a certain extent,too,but the original Superman,with the telling of the early history of Superman just can’t be beat ,echoing with the music of John Williams. I was glad to see Bryan Singer directing the film,and I am equally excited to hear the original Williams theme used in the movie,too. The music and the movie are so intertwined,it would not seem right if those familiar notes were not once more heard when the Man of Steel returns. My only hope is that kids will see this movie and like it as well. I don’t see why they shouldn’t,but I know a ten year old who doesn’t really care if he sees the film or not. He is so wrapped up in the Lord of the Rings,Star Wars,and X-Men that he must think there’s just not enough room for another hero. Speaking as a fan of all those films,I think he’ll find that is not the case.
