*whew* I am finally finished with this month’s WoR Calendar picture. Oh, and if I haven’t said it before, I apologize if the main or secondary characters look nothing like how their real world owner picture’s them.  Ok, off to bed for me now.

Woodrow Getting His Tookis Kicked

As Woodrow Call gets his butt kicked here in this little teaser from this month’s very late calendar, I have time to put the final coloring touches on it. *smiles*

Solar Maid. Here is another concept piece that was to be used on the official calendar website, but unfortunately, my sloth-like nature has been prevailing over the last few months. I guess the arrival of our new baby boy 4 months ago may be linked to the sudden evaporation of my free time, too. *smiles*

The calendar will be delayed a few more days. Well, I hope a few more days is all.  Work is taking up a good bit of time — it doesn’t help that this week I have been forced to start my day at 430 in the morning. Anyway, I am stuck in the pencil phase of the drawing. I keep on trying different poses for the “little dynamo” known as Oona, but so far have not been satisfied. Hopefully tonight will be a breakthrough. Once I get to the inked stage I can see the picture through in another 1 or 2 days. To be honest, it’s been hard finding the time to draw. Heck, you can glance through the last few months on this site; the frequency of my updates have been meager.  When I get home from work I simply want to spend some time with my son then veg out for a bit. Unfortunately, when I am done with that it’s time to feed the little guy and lo-and-behold it’s nearly 10 pm.  On the weeks I don’t have to get up at the 430-ish hour I stay awake a couple more hours, but it seems my brain is tired and any creativity is hard to muster. Am I the only one who gets like this? I am sure that is not the case, but there must be a way to manage my time better to allow more time to create.

There is a wide gulf between my intentions and that which I accomplish. Huge.  Most people are like this, I would bet. You have these ideas that run through your head throughout the day, but when you get home at night you have either lost those thoughts in the mediocre dross of the day’s activities or are simply too tired (or believe yourself too tired) to even begin to put thought into action.  For myself, if I can at least begin something, then the wheels of my brain slowly churn, the rust and cobwebs slowly fall away and the spark of creativity is at least a possibility. . . .

Speaking of which, I better get back to working on the calendar picture or Klaitu and the other 3 people that visit this site will hunt me down and tar and feather me.  (hey, not a bad idea for the next calendar picture, Klaitu. . . .)

Ok, now, this isn’t the official calendar picture for August, but I wanted to try and post this so those of you dropping by will see that just because I haven’t poked my head above sand for the better part of a month now, it doesn’t mean I haven’t forgotten my little sketchblog (or whatever you want to call this).

I had a touch of trouble with the upgrading of Wordpress 2.6 (no fault of Wordpress — it’s lovely. I just am an idiot, it would seem) and so have lost, temporarily, some pictures I have uploaded in the recent past. I have a backup back at home, but unfortunately, due to a power outage tonight, I find myself in a hotel room instead sleeping in my nice comfortable bed at home.  Anyway, you’ll note the lack of pictures in the previous posts. *sigh*

Time to sleep. I’ll give a further update tomorrow. Hopefully everything will be back in order by then.
